Into The Dark

Wool Coat (thrifted)
Hat and Knit Jacket c/o H&M
Fred Meyer Lace Top and Scarf
F21 Skirt (thrifted)
Leather Belt (thrifted)
Lather Bag (thrifted)
Salvatore Ferragamo Shoes (thrifted)

Well, not much going on here today, I'll just pretend that I'm just showing the layers out my outfits. (And working really hard on not looking at the camera!  Totally nailed that.)  I just realized that this was the second time this week I've paired this jacket and top together, I guess I'm just a sucker for lacey tops and patterned jackets.  I really only ended up throwing on my jacket at the end of the day, the weather  was so warm the ice started melting off the pond today.  Haha, at this rate winter will never come.  Score!

Of course, I'm saying that and tomorrow the temps will plunge to -40 so in advance, I apologize to all of my fellow Interior residents, it was all my fault this year.

I've noticed that while last year I wore a lot of colorful tights, this year Ive been sticking to mostly black or brown tights and I really haven't felt that much like wearing bright tights.  I'm not sure what up with that, I've been leaning towards a lot more black than usual and I'm normally all about the brightness in winter.  Either I'm finally growing up or my black soul is just showing it's true colors.

That's right, join me on the dark side.  We have cheesecake.

Crazy On A Full Moon

Bebe Coat (consignment)
Kardashians for Sear Lace Top
Urban Vibe Skirt and Suspenders
Salvatore Ferragamo Bag and Shoes (thrifted)

I'll admit to have a penchant for a man in suspenders, it's a pretty semxy look.  Unless the suspenders are holding up a keg and then the look loses a bit of the appeal. (Hey, guys make fun of us and body-shaming appears to be a huge thing in real life right now toward chicks so I don't think it's all that bad to throw it back at them.  You dudes want us all to be 110 pounds with porn star boobs and long blonde hair?  Then you had better lose that gut and starting putting on deodorant by which I mean don't pour on a ton of musk to mix with your natural body smell.  I know I'm a jerk but if I can smell you from two buildings away, that's not a good sign.)

Sorry, rant time there.  It was a small one but it's been a while since I've been able to muster up the emotional energy for one.  Take that tasteless jerks everywhere.

Im also going to mention that those "tube" camisoles that you're suppose to wear under sheer shirts are not that great, for all of the coverage they give I might as well just walked around in a bra. (And I cannot pull that off.)  I think I'll stick with my nude camisole from Old Navy from here on out, I just felt way too exposed with the strapless one and it's hard to pretend you're cool if you're that uncomfortable.

One Fine Night

Wool Hat
Knit Jacket c/o H&M
Fred Meyer Lace Top
Old Navy Tank
Aero Waxed Jeans
Dirty Laundry Boots
Necklace (thrifted)
Coach Bag (thrifted)

It's hard to beat forty degrees plus in October, this past month of prolonged fall is kinda making up for the spring-that-never-came this year.  With no snow i n the forcast, it looks like this will be the first Halloween in 75 years not to have snow and the first year that I'd ever seen a brown Halloween.  Crazy stuff but it's going to make for some awesome trick or treating this year.  I took the kids to the Halloween carnival at Gunnar's school yesterday and they had a pretty great time.  His school is smaller so it usually manages to put on some fun events for the kids and this year there was quite a few military dads who'd ended up volunteering to help run games. (Which is really adorable, all these big guys in military uniforms helping out all of the kids at the games.)   Afterwards Ev and I got to visit the Haunted House out in North Pole, I'm a pretty big chicken when it comes to that sort of stuff and this years Haunted House was quite spooking.  It had an old time Insane Asylum theme to it and was really well put on on, the actors interacted a little with you and half the time it was so dark you couldn't even see your hands in front of you in the halls.  I think I was almost running by the time we got to the end but hey, when some guy in a butcher's outfit with a pig's head is following, you really don't stand around and have a nice chat with him. (Or maybe you guys are braver than me and you do.)    It was kind of a nice break to get out of the house, we've all been really sick with the flu and ear infections, it was lucky that the day we all felt better was the day all the fun stuff landed on.  That's rare, it usually seems like you get sick when all of the fun stuff is going on, not the other way around.

Don't Stray From the Light

Old Navy Coat
Free People Sweater (thrifted)
Leather Pants (now leather shorts - thrifted)
MIA2 Loafers (thrifted)
Leather Clutch (thrifted)
American Eagle Outfitters Necklace
Crystal Pendant and Etsy Bird Skull Pendant

Well, I learned something.  It doesn't matter if you check yourself in the mirror, when you take pictures your bra lines with show up in soft sweater.  This drives me crazy, you can't see it in rl life but wow, do the undergarment lines ever show up in pictures.

Or maybe I just need a new bra.  Those are nice, I think they make these fancy, "no lines, tee shirt bras" now.  (I joke, I'm not that far behind on the times,  I just need to go shopping.)

Nothing But Wasteful Memories

Handmade Coat (thrifted)
Vest (thrifted)
Kirra Lace Dress
Seychelles Boots

Where the gray cardigan was a thrifting mistake, this baggy coat was not.  It's handmade and although there's little shape to it, I love the wide sleeves and the pattern.   I've never gotten pictures of it before(lazy) but most of the time I wear it with jeans, however it looks just as nice over a dress.

It's getting pretty frosty in the mornings now, we've got almost an inch of ice on the pond.  There's some snow showers in the forecast but hey, I'm cool with it holding off.  Frosty grass looks nifty in pictures.

Don't Rock The Boat

American Eagle Outfitters Hat and Boots
Forever 21 Dress (thrifted)
American Rag Vest (thrifted)
Leather Belt (thrifted)
Silver Ring

After looking through Pintrest I've come to a realization.  You can not be a bohemian chick and have short hair.  It just isn't done.

We All Get Lost

MichaelMichael Kor Cardigan (thrifted)
Anne Klein Cashmere Sweater (thrifted)
American Eagle Outfitters skirt
Coach Leather Bag (thrifted)
Leather Studded Boots (thrifted)
Pendants (thrifted)
Silver Rings

This long cardigan was one of those thrifted items that I settled for.  I've been looking for a long, flowy cardigan to go with my outfits and I thought this one would be perfect.  I've ended up not wearing it that much because I don't really like how it layers and it's just not quite what I was looking for.     I think a chiffon, knee length kimono wrap is what I'm really looking for, just something really breezy to throw on over a dress or a top and jeans and this top just doesn't quite do the job.  Thrifting mistakes, they happen to us all.

Unless you're a thrifting queen in which case, I tip my (non-existent) hat to you.
