Geese are Jerks

J.J. Basics Canvas and Faux Leather Jacket
Banana Republic Silk Blouse (thrifted)
J.Brand Coated Jeans (second hand via ebay)
Seychelles Boots

We've been going out to Creamer's Field at least once a week to see if the geese have come in yet and it looks like they finally arrive, a little bit later than usual this year. (Along with a bunch of seagulls and some cranes.)  The kids were really excited to see all of the birds, Izzy kept calling them ducks.  Heh, I think ducks are a little nicer, when I was three I was chased off a dock into a lake by two geese so I'm forever traumatized by the evil beasts.

(Regular Show, "A Bunch of Full Grown Geese."  I guess everyone's had the same experience with geese.)

  1. Katie...I agree! I was chased by a goose too. This was many years ago and my oldest son and I had gone to visit my dad. There were resident geese at his lakefront apartment and one of the crazy damn things chased me and scared the heck out of me. My dad was laughing as he watched me run and scream from that jerky goose!
    BTW...really rockin'cool jacket.

  3. No kidding, geese are evil! I was chased and pecked by them when I was little, and they terrified me since they were taller than me and everything. Ugh. They are the stuff of nightmares...
Haha, anyway, glad your kids are having a better experience...so far...(cue daunting music: DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN)

  5. I think I haven't had any experience with geese.. at least not yet so far but your story sounds like a really scary one. oh, I remember this one time when I was a lot younger and a crazy evil horsefly was chasing me (and my brother, I think). we were with our bikes and riding like crazy to get away from it!
anyway, your photos are really cool again and I just looove seeing those interesting spots in your country. and I have already said how cool that jacket is but will say it again since it really is ;) and those pants too since they remind me of leather. great combination, Katie!

  6. Luckily I have never had any close encounters with any geese and after reading your tale, I hope not to in the future. Aww Izzy is the cutest, Loving that jacket by the way, I think its the perfect piece for colder weather, it seems really versatile. If thats the type of views you get to see all the time...I am moving to Alaska!!

  7. I agree, geese always seem to be the most unpleasant of animals. My father grew up with a lot of animals in his house and the geese that lived with them were the nastiest little buggers ever to walk this earth. I hope to never encounter any.

on the plus side, you look comfortable and stylin. I love all the muted neutrals together! :)

    love,

  9. What a great, simple outfit. The leather sleeves really add an extra special touch to an otherwise easy-going outfit.

A friend of mine once had to rescue his Pomeranian from some geese in their backyard. Geese are jerks.
