Tardy to every Party

Sears Blazer (from about 4 years ago)
Edward Silk Blouse (thrifted)
J.Crew Corduroys (thrifted)
Seychelle Boots
Michael Kors Handbag (thrifted)
Turquoise and Silver Necklace
Urban Vibe Claw Necklace and Spiked Bracelet
Diamond and Gold Ring

I feel like such a dork when I look through some of my photos, almost every set has me with a super intense look on my face.  I'm not a very intense person in real life expect when I jump up on my beloved soap box or when I ride, most of the time I'm pretty dorky and goofy.  I don't know why I get so intense when I'm taking pictures, it's kind of stupid that I keep having to say "SMILE, Katie, smile at the camera for once!"

You know what makes me sad, on a completely unrelated note?  I'm sad that Nosferatu was cut from the last season of Next Iron Chef, him and his creepy smile and non existent one liners was the only reason for watching.  Man, that bummed me out when he lost.     I know, I'm late in talking about it but it still gets to me.  It still makes me laugh to go back over the episodes and see him just lurking around the other contestants.

  1. Thanks for checking out my blog! This is totally an outfit I would wear! And it's very similar to a lot of the outfits I wore right before I started my blog :p

But yeah, I'm a really goofy and dorky person but I will not smile for the camera! seriously (especially after reading your comment on my "about me") we're so alike!...except for that whole FMA thing :)

  2. Hahaha, that's the main reason why I look like a mental patient in my photos. I always feel so awkward and tense and make this weird, raped smile.
I love your tense look btw, your smile too, but your tense look is more sexy :D
And that buisness-y outfit is very pretty!

  3. Haha, that's why I always smile in my photos..I think I'd look really weird and serious if I wasn't smiling. This look would be great work work with the blazer and button down! Have a great weekend :)

  7. Haha, sometimes an intense face is what works for bloggers when they're taking photos. Either way, I just call it your fierce model face :)
I'm such a goofball in real life, I can't help laughing throughout photo shoots because I usually feel ridiculous, especially if someone else is taking the photos for me...haha, there are countless "talking Linda" portraits...man, those are just soooooo attractive (sarcasm dripping in there, in case you can't hear it lol).
The riveted boots return! Haha, I love them everytime you wear them Katie. Also, this striped blouse is perfect and so on trend.
I'm really liking that bracelet too. Spikes and studs? AND a claw necklace? Oh man...I think I may have to visit Alaska solely to steal these gems ;)

  9. I always do the most ridiculous faces when I am taking photos, or I just can't stop moving my face and they come out with one eye shut and my nostrils flared - not a good look. I find it easier doing my own photos though, if someone else does them for me I just spend the entire time trying to entertain my poor photographer and come out with some truly stupid looking poses. That fourth photo is fantastic, so so serious but you look stunning. I love this outfit, the stripey blouse looks fantastic - I'm always a bit scared of more masculine shapes. You look gorgeous xo

  10. aaand you're wearing those perfect boots again.. I wonder why I'm not surprised, hehe. I like this classy look btw. it's pretty much something I usually wear to work. a pair of pants (or jeans) + a classic blouse + a cardi or a blazer. comfy and classy. oh and I must mention my next post will include a striped shirt as well. even quite similar to yours. and yes, there are times when taking photos just seems like such a hard task. for example when snow is falling to your face and you can't even see (that's my striped shirt photoshoot, haha) or when you just don't feel like smiling and posing. being a blogger can be such a difficulty, haha.

  11. HI Katie,
I really like this outfit; the purple jeans really make it a standout. I just realized that I have been following you on my Google reader but not on bloglovin. How did I miss that? Well, you are on my bloglovin' now!

  12. Those boots again! I LOVE them :) Looks really nice with the pants and the black blazer. And oooo I feel like you're jewelry is especially edgy today (or maybe I didn't notice because I was too distracted by all your amazing shoes hahahha)with the spiky necklace and bracelet.

In all my pictures, I make the same face. Sometimes I try to change it up a bit and I don't smile but for some reason, I look really really really sad. But I think for you, the intense face works! :) And HAHAHAHAHAHA I burst out laughing when I saw the last two pictures. I don't watch Next Iron Chef but now I kinda wish I did!

  13. I love this outfit! Very classic. (And as a fellow redhead I'm super jealous of your length...I just don't have the frame to pull off long hair)

  15. i'm pretty sure this blog post title has been my life anthem. your outfit is classic! i don't care whether you smile in your photos or not. express yourself however you want to. that's my soapbox. ;)

  16. I think this is one of the most flattering outfits I've seen on you! The lines make you look so tall!

Also, I don't watch Next Iron Chef. Was that guy's name really Nosferatu or is that just what you nicknamed him? Cause, you're right, he's a dead ringer for the original film vampire.

  17. I'm loving this look in its simplicity. The shirt looks very striking with a blazer. It reminds me of an equestrian-themed Ralph Lauren ad I saw a while back (I tried to find it on google images but no luck).
