Nice Boots

Old Navy Parka
Boggs Boots

Gap Cardigan
American Eagle Outfitters Tee
Sears Skirt
Urban Vibe Belt and Spike Bracelet
Fred Meyer Tights and Floral Scarf
Seychelles Heels
Talbots Leather Handbag (thrifted - with new tags, natch!)

Oh yeah, who thought she was so tough taking her coat off in the cold?  We went from almost 50 degree days back down to temps in the teens and brrr, do I ever feel like a wimp now.  The me from back in December would so mock the me of today.  (How's that for a confusing sentence?)  It is sort of silly to think about though, back in December I would have been fine with taking pictures in -40 below zero, temps in the teens would've seemed a crazy heat wave to me.  I guess it's all relative.

This shirt looks okay on it's own but sort of evil with the cardigan and the scarf, it looks like my shirt is having a stare down with the camera.   At least the eyes are lower, a few inches higher and that would look a bit inconvenient.

Oh dear.

I did want to show my regular footwear, these Boggs boots are the best winter boots, hands down.  I've had this pair for four years now, they're super comfortable and warm, waterproof, you name it, they do it.  (Well, they don't cook. The rascals. )

  1. The trees are so green and not snow covered, spring is almost here! :) Anyway, love your outfit. The colorful scarf print and the skirt print looks amazing together and that tee is awesome! haha I actually have a tee shirt with eyes too except it's higher up so I always feel really awkward when I wear it so now it's what I wear when I go to sleep haha. Those boots look so durable but it's a shame they don't cook ;)

  2. You tough girl, you - work it! Haha, love the cool mix of that graphic tee with the printed skirt. You pulled it off effortlessly. Also, your HAIR! I wish I had enough patience to do something with mine more often...sigh.
Hahahaha! And true that, those eyes on the tee are situated just right :b

  4. Katie, I think you have the best thrift stores there. just look at this bag! I want it, I really do, haha. actually I want most of your bags :D anyway, let's be realistic now. the floral combo of your scarf and skirt (no florals, I know but they match so well!) is lovely and the way you have belted the skirt is awesome too. and how adorable are those shoes.
oh and sometimes ugly things are the warmest, I sure know that and have experienced it several times. after all, staying warm is essential when you live in a winter "paradise".

  9. Okay, I totally just wrote a comment and it got eaten! Anyway, I was saying that I had the same thought about your shirt but that I liked it with the skirt anyway. Never would have thought to put the two together!

Also, the photo of your everyday footwear next to your fancy footwear is great. You really have an eye for photography.

  10. Hi Katie, firstly thanks for your witty comments, they just make me smile! And thanks for being brave enough to take the coat off. I was intrigued by this charming look even before you did but after I saw the adorably cute tee and floral skirt, I was completely enamored! Love this look!

  12. I think you deserve a lot of credit for ditching the coat - it has just been too darn cold for outfit photos to be even the slightest bit enjoyable lately.

Love the print on the skirt, and your winter coat is pretty cute in its own right.

  13. I like this soft color palette, and it looks great with your skin and hair color! I also like how you tied it together with the belt and shoes. Hahaha I know exactly what you mean, I think that just a little above 0 Celsius is pretty warm currently, but I know that in the autumn it will be another story.
