Snow on the River

I love it when it snows, it means warmer weather and I am just all about that after this year so far.  It's insanely, we've actually broken some records from over a hundred years ago for the cold.  I will admit that it didn't seem any colder than usual, whining about the cold and then getting a sick thrill out of just how cold it can get seems to be a Fairbanks sport.  (We're sick, sick people.)

I apologize for so many pictures, I was so excited about finally figuring out how to work the new lens.  I was a bit bummed out last week about how much I was struggling with it but after finally reading up on it, I feel like I've got a decent handle on how it works. (Well, I suppose I should have done that in the first place.  I'm one of those people who just pushed every button to see what happens and while that does seem to work for the dvd player, the camera not so much.)

  1. I love these photos! You are so pretty and I'm really jealous of all the falling snow! It's hardly snowed here in Anchorage and it looks like break up season, which is super gross.

  2. What beautiful photos! You look like a (nice) ice princess in them. And I'm pretty sure that if I lived in Fairbanks I'd totally be down with getting a sick thrill out of watching the thermometer drop.

Also, your last sentence made me giggle at my desk.

  3. that's not a lot of photos. it's the perfect amount to show off your icy blue outfit, in the alaskan snow. the blue is a gorgeous color with your eyes. i like the lace elements of the scarf, flowers in the dress, and the antique looking ring. hooray for figuring out your new lens. if i kept pushing buttons, i probably would have broken something. that's my luck. ;)

  10. I haven't worn my maxi dresses since the summertime, and they are my favorite staple that time of year. You've inspired me to break them out again since you've proved they certainly can be winterized. I love how you can pull anything off in the snow. I o on the other hand, freak out about the weather when it rains here in New York.

  17. Wow. That is a ton of snow. It's beautiful for taking pictures in, but I'm sure you're tired of shoveling it and driving in it. Love the winterized maxi skirt look.

  22. So many buttons, so many decisions, right?:) The other day I couldn't figure out how our bathroom scale works, it has 4 buttons!! But anyhow - is it just the photos or are your eyes really really REALLY blue?!?!

  23. Floaty boho dress against the snowy backdrop - just stunning! I am also speechless about that ring.
I'm always a little afraid about tinkering with the camera settings - sometimes I screw them up and have to live with funky pictures until I figure out how to get them back to "normal." I know there's a lot of neat stuff that I haven't figured out how to do yet, so my goal this year is to explore the camera's potential!
