Olive, Leopard and Cranberry. (Not the most yummy sounding title.)

Old Navy Hat (Old Navy....I guess that's a no-brainer.)
Faded Glory Military inspired Jacket (thrifted)
Kardashian Dress (Sears)
Fred Meyer Tights
DV by Dolce Vita Boots (AE)

I'm pretty sure this outfit is not what the Kardashians had in mind when they created this dress but that's probably a good thing.  Obviously six inch platforms, major boobage and some gigantic jewelry is how they would have styled this. (Questionable man choice not included with purchase.)   I actually love this dress, I just wish that rather than being a high-low hemline that it was a full maxi skirt, that would have made this skirt a ten for me.   Oh well, I still love it, the billowy hem is delightfully fun to walk in, I just need to learn how to go walk through doors without slamming them shut on the skirt.

So, quick question guys.   I've been trying to play around with ideas for format and I want to know if center lined text and pictures really irritate you and do you all prefer the side format like this post?  Do you prefer pictures the same width, or are you okay with a few variations in picture size?  I really want this blog to be easy to load and easy to read and I would love to get some feed back from you all on this.  (Because you all are so awesome about giving me your honest opinion,  I know you'll tell me what's what.)  While we're at it, is there anything else that I could change about the blog or anything you'd like to see?  Thank you so much in advance, you all are such awesome, awesome people.

The silly photo with my leg pointed out made me laugh, it reminded me of the first time we put boots on Dollar the horse and he walked super goofy like that, with his legs just about over his ears.

  4. You are definitely a 'hat girl', which in my lingo means hats suit you beautifully. Love the dress too, I am actually surprised its by the Kardashian Collection, looks so lovely on you, especially with the coloured tights and chic jacket. I quite like your layout now, (but then again I am obsessive about symmetry so don't listen to me). Thank you so much for your sweet comment, it meant much to me :)

  6. I think there is nothing wrong with your layout and nothing bothers me here. the most important thing is your own thinking - are you happy with it and is it what you want it to be? simple is always good though ;)
but now about that dress.. I love it a lot but I think I would feel frozen when wearing it right now here in Estonia. though it looks so great with the snowy background!

  7. I love your styling of the dress very much and also adore the hat. Blog-format-wise, I like it as it is, but I think you should go with what feels right to YOU because it is YOUR space. :)

  8. I love your styling of this dress. It has a fun 70s vibe with the floppy hat! I am not the person to ask about styling, but I've been thinking of doing a little blog rehab too, so let me know if you learn any good tips!

  9. I am laughing at your description of the Kardashians! I love your more covered up version of the dress :)

I think the side format of the post looks great! It doesn't make a difference to me if the photos are all the same size or varied.

  10. I love all 3 of these things paired together because it's so unexpected. You look so pretty! You most def look way better than if a Kardashian styled this dress!

I like your blog layout the way it currently is. It's simple and easy to read!

  13. Ha, reading this post gave me a little laugh, and I need to thank you for that. Aha, I needed it, believe me.
Kardashian choices are indeed questionable, so say it politely ;)
Anyway, love how you styled their dress. Much more preferable and cute in my opinion.
Hmmm, I personally like it when all the photos are the same size, but as for side text/center/etc, I actually don't pay much attention to it. I like your blog set up.

  14. This dress really looks lovely and unexpected with the warm weather clothing. I really like it!

I guess I haven't noticed the difference between centered and non-centered photos on your blog because the photo size usually doesn't lend itself to seeing a difference. Does that make any sense?

  17. I like the one size pictures (thought I don't know how to do it), but a difference here and there is not really noticeable. as for blog posts, since you asked, I'd really love to see more personal pictures, other than outfits. (I love the outfit posts, don't get me wrong here) :d
other changes about the blog, theme and stuff, I think you should do them just if you want to. of course a change from now and then is nice, but only if you want.

  18. i like the whole outfit, color combo, pattern mix, and the kardashian dress. i'm fairly certain i prefer your styling. i'm curious to see what your kids look like, but i know that you may want to protect them, and i can respect that. katie q, it's your blog, so you express yourself in whatever artistic format you choose. as long as you're being true to you, and what feels right to you. i would hate for my or anyone else's opinion, to change that. ya know?

  19. I am so with you on preferring a maxi to a high-low hemline. I've passed on so many dresses because I dint beef any more high-low dresses!

I love this outfit - you are really getting to colours lately and it's great! Love the hat and this outfit is very free spirit :)

  21. Haha! I happen to love this skirt, I think the hem is fun and modern :) As far as your blog, I think the layout of your posts looks fine that way it is! I think it's all personal preference and that's what makes all of our blogs unique.

  22. I think this outfit is absolutely adorable. I think you rock it in your own style...better than the Kardashians. You style is so fun and unique. I really like picture of your kicking your leg up...it looks lighthearted and fun in the cold temps!
