Frolic Katie, Frolic. (Or don't.)

The "what in  the name of all that is holy is this?!" look.  Moms everywhere recognize it. (pets mommies too.)

Black winter coat: Fleet St.
Scarf: Icing
Blazer: Sears
Red sweater: ? (No label, thrifted)
White blouse: F21 (thrifted)
Jean: American Eagle Outfitters
Boots: DV by Dolce Vita

The purple polka dotted pants make their return!  These are one of my favorite pairs of pants, the purple and cream polka dots always make me smile and they don't feel too crazy for a pair of patterned bottoms.  When I look back on this outfit, it's comprised of many of my favorite garments, the polka dotted pants, my favorite blazer, these awesome booties and my favorite loose white blouse.  Nothing like comfort clothes when you're seriously considering just staying in your pjs.  (But since pjs in public makes me ragey, clothes it was.  At least the coat has pockets for lots and lots of tissues.)

Heh, you can actually see my breath in a few of the pictures, it was flippin' cold today. I'm not a huge fan of 25 below, but it sure does make the trees look pretty.

  4. There is something magical about the way the trees look in this photo and in the way you kind of fit in with your natural surroundings. You are wearing some color...but the pants...are kind of frosty lavender and fit in with the cold snow. Love the polka dots. And the lavender in the scarf. You wear mix your neutrals with you color in a unique way that makes you look like part of the landscape...or like you belong there.

  10. 25 below? Seriously? Now I feel guilty for complaining about the temps in the low 30s and freezing rain/ slushy snow we've been having.

    1. Don't not ever feel like that! It feel worse when the temps first drop down to the 30s than the first day of -25 does, it's hard letting go of the warm weather. (And I hate slush, yuk.) I think you guys are totally get to to complain, you've had quite the weather down there the past couple weeks.

    1. Hah, you MUST be a former AK girl to know the Fbks abbreviation! Where in Ak did you use to live? It's always so exciting meeting other ladies who've been up here. :)
And yes, I use to never shop at AE but I've been really impressed with the amount of cute stuff they have this year, they have the best selection of printed jeans.

  13. Oh, sweetie, are you wearing enough for the -25? From my Russian days I remember it was pretty cold when the temperature dropped that low.

Absolutely love the scarf and how you wear it and these colours look GORGEOUS on you, absolutely gorgeous.

    Stay warm!

    1. No worries here dear! I've actually got my long underwear on underneath and it keeps me pretty toasty. (If I'm outside for a long time I do whip out the snowpants.) That -25 is not much fun, but it's still pretty doable, it's the -50 that really is awful, it's just no fun going outside them. At least you can still ski and play in -25. :P (We're lucky and don't get the wind chill, so the -25 isn't too bad.) Thank you, it's fun to meet up with other blogger who've lived in similar climates, I know it gets crazy cold in some spots of Russian!
