Thank you many times over

Oh dear, I should have sucked it in on this photo.

Jacket: Sears
Tee: Old Navy
Scarf: Old Navy
Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters
Shoes: Steve Madden (thrifted)
Handbag: Thrifted

I wasn't joking when I said that I wear these jeans every weekend.  In fact, this whole outfit is a mix of some of my favorite things in my closet.

I want to say thank you, thank you, Thank you to everyone who commented yesterday.  I know it was a scattered, somewhat erratic post to read through and really, kudos to all of you for understanding what I was trying so hard to put into words.  You ladies are awesome and I always love to hear your insight, everyone had some really great points.

This blogging thing is really fun and I've gotten to meet some amazing women.   I want to do my best to be honest on this blog and to say something intelligent every once in a while.  I'm stupid and silly and a bit of a nerdy nerd, but I do have moments when I want to have a conversation.    Thank you for having it with me.

  1. I just went back and read all the comments on your previous post and everyone had really great thoughts! There should be more conversations like this in the blogging world.

Also, thank you for your lovely compliments on how I help my readers. One of my goals for my blog is for people to see me as a resource and not just a pretty face :-)

Your outfit today reminds me of a casual version of an outfit I wore back in April. I love the idea of pairing it with jeans for a casual Friday look for me!

  2. I enjoy following your blog, because you have on at least one thing in each of your outfits that I would wear or may even own already, even if I would personally choose to style the outfit differently for myself.

What I like about your blog as well as that you fit the image of a real human being, on a normal budget, who sees fashion other than $600 bags and shoes.

    1. The thought of paying $600 for a handbag makes me dizzy... :P

But thank you! (You have no idea how touched I was by that!) My budget is so small every month, so I've really had to become good at finding great clearance buys and going to the thrift stores and I'm glad that I come across that way. (Since I have a hard time of expressing myself properly on the blog. :P ) I'm so bad at commenting but I always enjoy reading through your blog, I always save your pictures to the computer, they make me smile. (And I like reading about your social work, I find it really fascinating to get a glimpse into what goes on behind the senses. You are crazy tough.)

  3. First off, those boyfriend jeans are wonderful! I love the wide belt and striped shirt with them. Definitely keeping this outfit in mind for future inspiration! And second, I've fallen in love with your blog because of the honest and down-to-earth attitude, especially in yesterday's post! Have a wonderful weekend, Katie!

    1. I was so happy to find a pair of boyfriend jeans that didn't make me look like a dude. :) These are just insanely comfy. And thank you so much, I'm a pretty average gal so I would look pretty silly coming off as anything else!

  4. I have a pair of jeans that I wear every weekend too! I just love them so. And I love that jacket. I've always liked that style but couldn't ever find one I liked in my price point. I'm impressed that yours is from Sears? Any chance that was a recent purchase?

    1. Ah, I wish I could say it was recently at Sears, but it's from two years ago. (I'm happy I bought it, it was a bit out of my comfort zone at the time, but it's really become a staple in my closet. And yeah, everything I've seen close to it lately is way out of my price range. I'll keep my eyes open for an affordable option.)

Sears rocks. They're not known for their clothing but I've found some real gems there, you just really have to hunt for them. (And their clearance is insane. I've gotten stuff for as little as 85 cents there and every spring their winter coats that are normally hundreds of dollars go to clearance for around $9.99.
